Modern Sacred Spaces: Nordic Architecture and the Essence of Light

Valle Scholarship, June-September 2022

In coordination with the University of Washington, Peter Thule Kristensen, and the Royal Danish Academy, I spent the summer of 2022 documenting the relationship of 'sacred light' in the Nordic countries of Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Estonia, and Latvia.

The project was documented with photography, videography, and in writing. An instagram feed was kept and regularly updated with vignettes of each destination visited, and their essences. The independent study was paramount for my time at the University of Washington, and will have life-long effects on my view of architecture, and the sacred.
